Eating DIsorder Treatment

I work with individual adults who are battling disordered eating thoughts and behaviors, negative body image, and obsession with food, weight, exercise, and dieting. I specialize in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and compulsive exercise, having experience working in both outpatient and intensive outpatient/partial hospitalization levels of care. I bring a background in media studies to my work and am very thoughtful and critical of the ways in which we are affected by the vast array of media formats we interface with daily. Similarly, my doctoral dissertation was on the potential for Facebook to have an impact on body image dissatisfaction in young women.

I believe that full recovery is possible from an eating disorder and I am passionate about helping my clients get there and to find freedom from disordered thoughts and behaviors. It is often challenging work and requires a team effort, but I am committed to being by my client's side on the journey, working to enhance embodiment and overall meaning, purpose, and fulfillment. My work is integrative and informed by Health At Every Size and Intuitive Eating principles.
